Delete your YouQue account
Last updated: August 13, 2026
The fastest way: delete from inside the app
If you still have YouQue installed you can delete your account immediately. Nothing is queued and nobody reviews it — the deletion runs there and then:
- Open YouQue and go to Profile
- Tap the settings icon
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account
- Confirm
There is no waiting period, no cooling-off window, and no way for us to undo it. When it finishes you are signed out and the account no longer exists.
Don't have the app installed?
If you've already uninstalled YouQue or can't sign in, email us at [email protected] from the email address associated with your account.
Subject line: Delete my account
We will:
- Confirm the request by replying to the email
- Permanently delete your account and all associated data within 30 days
- Send a final confirmation email when deletion is complete
Please don't send us a password — we never have one. If you write from a different address we may ask you something only the account holder would know, so that nobody can delete someone else's account.
What gets deleted
All of it. Not hidden, not deactivated, not held in a form we could restore.
- Your profile — display name, @handle, bio, avatar, persona tag, and your public/private setting.
- Your sign-in — the account itself. You won't be able to log in again, and your @handle is released.
- What you watched and chose — watch history, saved Ques, folders, interests, mood history, and every recommendation we served you, including anything you typed into the Just Your Words box.
- Your social graph — friends and pending friend requests, your blocked list, and your Minds Like Yours matches.
- Your conversations — your exchanges and the messages you sent. A YouQue exchange is a private thread between two people, so deleting your account removes the whole conversation, including from the other person's app.
- Your public activity — Ques you shared to Explore, and every like or dislike you gave.
- Your notifications, and notifications your activity created for other people.
- Your achievements and their progress.
- Push tokens for every device you signed in on, so no notification can reach you afterwards.
- Reports — both the ones you filed and any filed about you.
If you signed in with Apple
Deleting your account also revokes YouQue's token with Apple, so the connection is cut on Apple's side too. You can check afterwards on your device under Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple: YouQue will no longer be listed. There is nothing left for you to clean up by hand.
If you signed in with Google there is no equivalent token to revoke. We only ever received your email address and name from Google, and both are deleted with the account.
What is not deleted
- Anonymous totals. Some usage is counted into monthly totals that carry no account identifier and cannot be traced back to you or to any individual. Deleting your account does not un-count a total. We do not keep anonymised copies of your individual activity — those rows are deleted outright.
- Emails you sent us. Messages to our support or privacy addresses live in an email inbox, not in the app, so in-app deletion does not touch them. Ask and we will delete those too.
- Purchase records. Subscriptions are billed by Apple and Google, not by us, and we never receive or store your card details. Your purchase history stays with the store under its own privacy policy.
- Records the law requires — a tax record, for example — or anything we need in order to defend a legal claim, and only for as long as that applies.
- Routine backups. Deleted data can persist briefly in encrypted backups until they are overwritten on their normal cycle. It is not restored to the app and is not used for anything.
Deleting your account does not delete the YouTube videos YouQue recommended. We never hosted them; they belong to YouTube and to the creators who made them.
If you were turned away at sign-up for being under 16
YouQue is for people 16 and older. If you gave a birth year that made you under 16, we did not store your birth year and we did not set up a YouQue profile for you to use — no display name, no handle you chose, no picks, and nothing you added. What we do keep is a minimal sign-up record: the email address that sign-in came from, and a marker saying the account was turned away, which is what stops the same account signing straight back up.
That marker and the sign-in record are deleted automatically 30 days later. You do not have to ask. If you would rather it went sooner, email [email protected].
